Phoenix Alumnae Chapter of Delta Zeta's signature event "Turtles and Pearls" is February 26, 2017. You will not want to miss our event that honors our 65, 50 25 and 10 year membership milestones that were achieved in 2016. We also honor and welcome our Pi Zeta chapter senior members who will be graduating this year and becoming alumnae members.

This year the event will be held at the Gladly Restaurant known for high quality ingredients in their dishes. Their chopped salad was included in Food Networks Must Try Dishes in Phoenix. It's so famous that it has its own Facebook page. You will be able to choose from four signature lunch dishes including the famous chopped salad at our luncheon.

The food will be fabulous, but come for the sisterhood. This is always a wonderful event and you won't want to miss it-especially if you are being honored with a membership milestone.

The Gladly is centrally located at 2201 E Camelback Rd, Phoenix, AZ. Registration and photo booth will be from 11am-12noon and the luncheon will start at noon with the membership recognitions to follow. Parking is free of charge and located on the south side of Camelback Road between 22nd and 24th Street. From here you can access the main entrance and patio to The Gladly.

Cost is $30. Your reservation must be received by Wednesday, February 22 either by paying through our website here. Or sending check to our treasurer Lorna Green, 4723 E. Voltaire, Phoenix, AZ 85032. As the seniors are our guests, please consider sponsoring a senior for $25 each. Your online payment or mailed check is your confirmed reservation. Hope to see you at Turtles and Pearls. It is always amΔΖing!

Tucson Delta Zeta Alumnae December Celebration
What a beautiful DZ Tucson luncheon at The Grill at Hacienda del Sol on December 10th, 2016. A private room with fireplace, a personalized menu for each attendee and the honored guests, Susan Norman, Arizona State Alumnae Chairman and Lorna Green, Phoenix Alumnae Chapter treasurer created a delightful holiday event. The setting was perfect, not only for lively conversation, but conducive to attendees voting to petition for Delta Zeta Alumnae Chapter recognition in 2017. Yeah!! Two officer positions were nominated: President-Suzan Bryceland and Treasurer-Nancy Karsh. More details will be finalized at the February 06, 2017 luncheon.

Alumna Spotlight-P.J. Heyliger

P. J. Heyliger, an art major, attended University of Oklahoma and the University of Hawaii, and did her graduate work at the University of Mexico. Her oils, acrylics, and watercolors are exhibited and collected in New York, New Mexico, Oregon, California, Spain, as well as many other parts of the world. One of her paintings hangs in the Jimmy Carter Library. She has circumnavigated the world six times, always looking for a new place to snorkel. PJ now lives in Paradise Valley, Arizona and is a member of our DZ Phoenix Alumnae Chapter. Her passion for traveling and painting continues to grow. In November P.J. illustrated the pictured child's book. Henri van Bentum, an artist and lecturer she met on her first around the world trip in 1999-2000, was the author. The book is now on Amazon. The name is: King Neptune's Jewels with Tails and Fins. The book tells about a long time ago, everything had color, except the fish and coral in the ocean, so Neptune and the mermaids were called upon to paint and design them. It's a whimsical and delightful visit to the realm of tropical fish in a coral reef, complete with King Neptune, mermaids, Moray eels, nudibranches, parrotfish, seahorses, and many other creatures. It was so much fun, P.J. is now illustrating her second book. It is about gnomes in a fantasy garden. You can check out this book or order it from Amazon here. Congratulations P.J., she is another truly amazing Delta Zeta.

Our sister DZ Kim Worswick and family were featured on HGTV's House Hunters. If you missed the first airing in November you have a chance to watch it on January 18 at 11pm and 2am Mountain time. After years of moving, a former military family is settling down in Phoenix. She wants a one-story Craftsman or ranch with neighbors nearby, but he wants a traditional two-story on a big piece of private land. Which house will they choose?
