Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 16th!

Charity Project at our
September meeting:

The GRBS has decided to support the Guelph Women in Crisis Centre this year for our Charity Project.  Bookmark hooks and an assortment of beading supplies will be available for members to use to create decorative "dangles" to attach to the ends of the bookmarks or create hair pins, shawl pins, zipper pulls, key fobs or gift package tags. The ideas are endless.

We would ask that you bring any of your own supplies such as findings, beads as well as beading tools (needle, thread), needle nose pliers, cutters, round nose pliers, a beading mat, and task lighting, if required.

This is our major fund-raiser for the Bead Society.

You can help by:

  • Telling your friends
  • Taking the promotional post cards and handing them out.
  • Do you know a bulletin board that allows community postings?  Post it up there.
  • Do you know someplace what will let us leave the post cards?  Leave some there.
  • And on-line – share, like and comment on our postings.

Be sure to bring your GRBS membership card – some vendors will offer a discount for members.

Volunteers needed!

The Grand River Bead Society will be at Ancaster Fair Grounds, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 - 5 each day. We need Volunteers to sign up who are willing to be at the table for two hours, a half day, or all day.  You will be sitting at the Bead Society table working on any bead or jewellery project you like and providing information to visitors about the Bead Society.  Easy and fun!

Sign up at the September meeting – or contact Marilyn Clayton at and let her know your availability.  It is a fun time promoting GRBS. All help gratefully appreciated.

As a volunteer your admission will be free!
