President's Message

Our September meeting, the kick off to our 2019/20 year, was phenomenal! We have 12 new members to WELCOME!

Our Charity project was in full swing; decorating shepherd hooks to sell at our October 2019/20 Bead Show.  They will sell for $5.00 each with proceeds being donated to Guelph Women In Crisis. Our creative minds were in overdrive once again!  The shepherd hooks are great as hair jewellery, gift decorations, shawl pins, etc.  Come and check them out.

Marilyn Gardner has been very busy with all of the many show details in readiness for the Show on October 19/20.  It will be a great show!  Check out the show website for more info

GRBS members who have some time to give during the show, please contact Marilyn Clayton at All help greatly appreciated.

Thank you to everyone who make our GRBS meetings an exciting and creative monthly event. It can only happen with each of you!

Tips And Techniques
If you are a scarf lover, and looking for an easy accessory that is quick to make, here's a great idea. String an assortment of beads onto a few coils of ring-sized memory wire. Using roundnose pliers turn a tight loop on each end of the wire. Wrap a scarf around your neck and slide the ends through the coils from the opposite directions. Voila! A fashion statement that's hard to beat! - Diane Baker, Berkeley, California. Courtesy of Bead & Button Magazine

Many of our members have name tags that have been created by Ron Wilkins Jewellers in Fergus. If you are interested in having one made please see Marilyn Clayton. The cost is $8.00. Great way to get to know each other! (and we can guarantee that the magnet is very strong)
