As Christmas fast approaches we, at Adcutech, are reflecting on a mixed year.  From Brexit to Trump, 2016 certainly has encouraged some interesting workplace conversations & debates.

As with the World, Adcutech has also had some successes & some failures during 2016 but all things we can learn from & improve on during the coming year.

MT (Management Today) recently ran an article entitled "Small businesses: keep it simple to survive Brexit", advising us ...Don't panic, embrace technology and put the customer first, and that is what we will continue to do for 2017.

With our now established suite of high speed Haas milling centres we have been able to implement common program improvements across the mills to reduce the cycle times of components making us more efficient and in some cases offer cost down solutions to our customers.

We are still developing our team of skilled staff and hopefully in early 2017 will be recruiting again to strengthen the team further.
We remain very grateful for the strong business relationships we have in place and would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued business.

This year we have again decided to donate the cost of cards and gifts that we would normally send out to two charities that are close to our hearts.

We will be giving £175.00 to each charity.
If as a business you support great causes, then we would invite you to consider supporting

Doing it for Dan.

This charity has been set up in memory of Stuart's Son, Dan Climance who we sadly lost in 2015.

There has already been a huge amount of fundraising activity since the charity was formed mid 2016 but it could always do with more.

Check out the website and take a few minutes to watch this short video created by Dan's brother, Robbie, which shows the great people & groups that are already supporting this charity.
Thank you.

With a new business year looming here are some tips for small business strategic planning.
Without a strategy, a business lacks the direction it needs to be successful. If you want to work smarter rather than harder and grow with purpose, strategic planning is a necessity.
  1. Eliminate distractions. Make sure the planning process receives the attention it deserves.  Eliminate interruptions and improve your focus.
  2. Involve your team members. Involving team members early on will result in greater support for the plan. Encourage open and free discussion.
  3. Know who you are. Your company’s mission, vision and values will set the direction for your strategic plan.
  4. Understand your current situation. Identify the internal and external factors that will be likely to help or hinder you as you pursue your goals.
  5. Set both long- and short-term goals. Your goals should be ambitious enough to be challenging and inspiring, but not unattainable.
  6. Create a plan to achieve your goals. Outline strategies, tactics & resources you need achieve your goals.
  7. Focus on execution. You must have an action plan with specific tasks, responsibilities and timelines.
  8. Keep your plan flexible. Do not become so wedded to the details of your plan that you are unable to respond to changing market conditions. Nimbleness is one of the key advantages a small business has in competing with larger companies, so be ready to adjust your strategy and pursue new opportunities as long as they are a good fit with your long-term objectives.
