Fall Member Reception

The annual Fall Member Reception is a wonderful way to meet and reconnect with DCLA members. This year's venue is the Reading Room at Petworth Citizen.

Members and guests will enjoy appetizers and punch, while learning about DCLA and our ongoing programs, committees and activities.

Upshur Street Books is located next door and DCLA members are invited to take a look at this new, independent neighborhood book store!

Cost for the event is:

  • $20 for members
  • $25 for non-members
  • $15 for students, retired, or currently unemployed

Registration for this event closes Monday, September 28th. Direct questions to Bobbie Dougherty, DCLA Membership Director.

DCLA Presents

Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely, All American Boys

Join DCLA and the Shaw (Watha T. Daniel) Library on October 7 at 6:30 p.m. as Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely read from All American Boys, "an unforgettable new novel..., two teens—one black, one white—grapple with the repercussions of a single violent act that leaves their school, their community, and, ultimately, the country bitterly divided by racial tension." A book signing will follow the reading.
