We are asking for your help and cooperation in a special situation.
A number of our students here at Emanuel have gotten sick. Many are being called in sick or have been sent home due to various symptoms. All grades have seen some level of illness; however, 7th grade has been hit the hardest.
Please be alert to any symptoms your child may develop such as: fever, persistent cough, sore throat, headache, stomach ache, chills, etc. Please keep your child home until they are completely well. Sending them to school can worsen their symptoms, as well as spread the illness to other students.
Per our policy in the Emanuel Parent/Student Handbook:
Students should not return to school until they have been fever free (without medication), and no vomiting or diarrhea for at least 24 hours.
This means that we are asking that all students sent home today not come back until Friday. If your child is at school tomorrow (Thursday), we will be contacting you to pick them up and take them back home. We would rather that you err on the side of caution with your child and keep them at home to make sure they don’t pass on any other illnesses and are completely healthy before returning.
Thank you in advance for helping us to promote the healthiest environment possible for all of our students.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to let me know. My contact information is below.
God blessings on your evening,
Mr. Kirk Schauland Laurie Eidenberger
