NEWS & NOTES
There is no school Wednesday, Nov 27 through Friday, Nov 29. Enjoy your Thanksgiving break!
The Emanuel lunch silverware continues to disappear! During the last month alone, we have lost over 50 forks and spoons! The lunch service informed us last week that they had to purchase more silverware. We are taking further steps at lunch to make sure that the silverware gets returned to the kitchen, but we are asking for your help as well. Please remind your child to put their silverware in the proper places. Moving forward, we are also asking that cold-lunch students bring their own silverware. They will not be able to use school-provided silverware from the lunch program. If you do discover some at home, please send it back with your child. Thank you for your help with this!
We are having a school-wide Christmas Collection for nursing homes in the area. This collection replaces classroom gift exchanges. Click on the link for more information.
Lost and Found
It’s getting to be that time of year again: snow pants, gloves, hats, and boots season. Please make sure your child’s name is on their belongings. Items that show up at the lost and found table with a name are easier and quicker to return to their owner.
Also, please take a look at the Lost and Found table. Items are starting to accumulate, but nothing is getting picked up.
Principal Call Update
Our next principal call meeting will be held Sunday, December 1st between church services (9:15 am).
Volunteer Sign Up for Basketball
All winter sports families are reminded to sign up for their volunteer spots. Here is the link for the sign up. Volunteer Sign Up
It’s not too early to start thinking about ordering Scrip for Christmas. We have many cards on hand and many more can be ordered. We will also be able to get $5 and $10 cards for many retailers. These must be ordered. Please check out which cards are available at http://bit.ly/5and10GiftCards_Flyer All Christmas orders must be placed by December 10th. Please call or stop in at the office for details.
Thank You Musicians!
Thank you to the students of Bells Alive and the volunteer singers who beautified our Hymn Festival yesterday with their musical gifts! To God the glory!
If you are a family interested in helping out those in need for Christmas, please contact Mrs. Eidenberger. Money donations are welcome. She will get a list of some needed items you can go shopping for as well.
PAC Tickets Ready for Pick-Up
If your family (5-8th graders) ordered tickets for the December field trip to see Phantom of the Opera at the PAC, your tickets are ready for pick up with Mrs. Eidenberger in the school office. Once you claim your tickets, please keep them safe until the performance on December 15 at 6:30pm.
2019-20 2nd Quarter Mission Project
Mission offerings for the 2nd quarter will be going towards K.I.D.S. Care - Indonesia: Early Childhood Education. More information about this ministry will be given throughout the quarter.
Throughout the school year, there are multiple opportunities to volunteer at Emanuel. If you are interested in volunteering for any of the listed opportunities please contact the listed staff member or the school office.
Christmas Collection Help: Volunteers are needed to help pre-cut wrapping paper for our school-wide Christmas Collection event. Volunteers are also needed on December 12th from 12:15 pm-3:00 pm to help students make and wrap gifts. Please contact Miss Stahmann (920-285-2107) or the office (920-982-5444) if you are able to help out.
Winter Volunteers Needed: Emanuel is in need of volunteers to help maintain the campus grounds during the winter months. This would involve salting & shoveling sidewalks. Please contact the office at 920-982-5444 if you would be willing to help out.
Ushers: You will find a board in the Narthex with sign up sheets for ushering. This sign up will be for our Thanksgiving services. Thanksgiving Eve will take place at 7 pm, and Thanksgiving morning will be at 9:30 am.
We are also in need of ushers for the Children’s Christmas Service.
