NEWS & NOTES
New London School District-wide sickness
An email/letter was sent home last week to the New London School District parents about the large amount of sickness going around the district. It is very similar to the one we sent home last Thursday. You can read it here.
Please be alert to any symptoms your child may develop such as: fever, persistent cough, sore throat, headache, stomach ache, chills, etc. Please keep your child home until they are completely well. Sending them to school can worsen their symptoms, as well as spread the illness to other students.
Per our policy in the Emanuel Parent/Student Handbook:
Students should not return to school until they have been fever free (without medication), and no vomiting or diarrhea for at least 24 hours.
We would rather that you err on the side of caution with your child and keep them at home to make sure they don’t pass on any other illnesses and are completely healthy before returning.
Thank you in advance for helping us to promote the healthiest environment possible for all of our students.
Powerschool Notification Preferences
In order to reach everyone when the Emanuel Alert Line is used, please update your preferences of which messages you would like to receive.
To do so, please log in to Powerschool, click on the SwiftReach SwiftK12 button in the top left corner, and then select “Alert Preferences” in the right corner. On the next screen, verify that your contact information is correct. Click on each orange Alert Preferences button, select which options you’d like, and save. This needs to be done with each child you have attending Emanuel. Please let Mr. Schauland or Mrs. Eidenberger know if you have any questions.
The Emanuel voters issued a call for a principal yesterday. His name will be shared in the Tiger Talk next week. The Emanuel School Board will also be issuing a call for a 5th grade teacher and athletic director for the 2020-2021 school year in the next week as well.
Please keep Miss Stahmann in your prayers. She received a call last weekend to teach 3rd & 4th grade at Divine Savior Academy in Sienna Plantation, Texas starting next school year. Over the next few weeks she will be evaluating and deliberating where she can best serve: here at Emanuel or down at Divine Savior Academy in Sienna Plantation, Texas. If you have any words of encouragement for her, please let her know.
Radio Broadcast from Emanuel
Frog Country 92.3 will be broadcasting live Wednesday, Jan 29th from Emanuel from 11am-1pm. Listen for interviews from the Emanuel staff.

Friday, February 7th - Emanuel Spelling Bee
February 7th is our school spelling bee, starting at 1:30 pm in the gym. The top spellers in grades 5-8 will compete to determine the top Emanuel speller. Feel free to join us!
Wisconsin Parental Choice Program
The Wisconsin Parental Choice Program is an amazing chance for families to receive their education at Emanuel tuition free! It is also a blessing to our school because this voucher provides the full cost of educating a child which is more than tuition costs.
The window for applications runs from February 03 - April 16. Click here for more information, or go to the DPI website at https://apps4.dpi.wi.gov/ChoiceParent
Any questions, please see Mrs. Eidenberger.
Claim a Private School Tuition Tax Deduction
Tax season is quickly approaching and a simple form can help Emanuel families deduct up to $4,000 for K-8 tuition and $10,000 for 9-12 tuition on their state income taxes.
The tax deduction will save the average parent an estimated $240 per K-8 and $600 for high school students on their state tax bill.
This one page form is simple and easy to complete. You will need Emanuel’s Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) to complete the form. That number is 39-0830270.
Information about the deduction can be found here. Forms are also available in the office.

Students came home with a winter update before Christmas giving news about the past semester. The update can also be accessed here.
