Save the Date - Farewells for Mr. Lepke and Schauland Family
This May, our 6th grade teacher, Mr. Dave Lepke, will be retiring after 43 years of teaching here at Emanuel. We will thank God for Dave’s ministry on Sunday, May 16, during the 10:30 service. Students in grades 5-8 have been invited to sing for this service. Cards, gifts, and messages for Mr. Lepke can be delivered to the church office. There is also a private Facebook group for sharing messages or nostalgic photos with Dave and his family - see the Emanuel FB page for more information:

Kirk and Kelly Schauland and their family will also be leaving this summer. We will celebrate their ministries and say goodbye to them the following week, on Sunday, May 23, at the 10:30 service. Again, cards, gifts, and messages for the Schauland family can be delivered to the church office.

We thank God for supplying our school with faithful servants and we look forward to these special celebrations!

Dress Code Reminder
With warmer weather finally making an appearance, we would like you to review the dress code, especially for 3rd-8th grade. Click here for the entire dress code. Here is the general list for what is and isn’t allowed here at Emanuel.

  1. Clothing that is neat, clean, and modest.
  2. Sleeveless, hemmed tops are permissible if undergarments are covered.
  3. Shorts or skirts that extend past the fingertips when standing OR shorter shorts that have spandex underneath them.
  4. Leggings, tights, or spandex that are covered by a fingertip length garment.
  5. Footwear that is appropriate for going up and down stairs and playing at recess
  6. Shorts may be worn in the months of August, September, October, April, May and June as well as for athletic activities.
  7. In all things, give God the glory!

Not Allowed - Grades 3-8
  1. Cut-offs
  2. Pajama pants
  3. Overly tight fitting shorts, pants, skirts, or tops
  4. Shirts and tops that expose bare midriffs or backs
  5. Halter-tops, strapless tops or dresses, see-through tops, or low-cut apparel
  6. Exposed skin or undergarments whether sitting or standing.

Since the dress code is subjective in nature, the teachers and principal reserve the right to use their discretion in judging the appropriateness of student dress and appearance.  Students who clearly do not adhere to dress code guidelines will be addressed, and they may have parents contacted to bring suitable clothing to school into which the child can change or be given a suitable garment to wear over or in place of the offending one.

If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Schauland. Thank you for your cooperation with this!
