Save the Date (May 16th & 23rd) - Farewells for Mr. Lepke and Schauland Family

Mr. Dave Lepke, our 6th grade teacher, will be retiring after 43 years of teaching here at Emanuel. We will thank God for Dave’s ministry on Sunday, May 16, during the 10:30 service.  Mr. Lepke will be in the narthex between the 8:00 & 10:30 services.  This will be followed by a luncheon in the school commons.  Emanuel will be providing the meat, potatoes, place settings and water.  Guests are asked to bring a salad or dessert for the event.  Lunch will begin after the 10:30 service, with a program set to begin at 12:30.  Seating will be limited due to the size of the commons.
There will be boxes out for cards, gifts, and messages for Mr. Lepke.  These items may also be dropped off or mailed to the Emanuel office.  In additional to this, there is also a private Facebook group for sharing messages or nostalgic photos with Dave and his family - see the Emanuel FB page for more information: www.facebook.com/emanuelnl

Kirk and Kelly Schauland and their family will also be leaving this summer. We will celebrate their ministries and say goodbye to them the following week, on Sunday, May 23, at the 10:30 service. Again, cards, gifts, and messages for the Schauland family can be delivered to the church office.

We thank God for supplying our school with faithful servants and we look forward to these special celebrations!

May 21st - “5K-4th Grade Field Day”
Students in 5K through 4th grade will walk to Abraham Park and participate in track & field events. This year, we are asking that a water bottle be sent with your child.  We will leave Emanuel around 12:30PM, be at the park from 12:45PM-1:45PM, and return to Emanuel around 2PM.

May 21st -Parent Volunteers Needed for 5K-4th Field Day
Friday, May 21st, is our 5K-4th Grade Field Day!  Parent volunteers are needed to help run events at Abraham Park.  If you are available between 12:30PM and 2PM on Friday and are willing to help lead/run an event, please sign up using this link.  Miss Stahmann will contact you with more details after you sign up.  Please remember that you need to have a completed background check to help out.

May 27th - Emanuel Closing Service & 8th Grade Graduation
The 2020-2021 school closing service & 8th grade graduation will take place on Thursday, May 27th at 7pm in the church. Congratulations to Carolynn B. who is the 8th grade Valedictorian and to Evan R. who is the class Salutatorian!  Evan will give the welcome address and Carolynn will give the farewell address during the graduation portion of the service on May 28th.
As we close out the 20-21 school year together as a school family, we join together in congratulating our 8th grade class and pray that the Lord would continue to guide and bless them as they travel the path He has in store for each one of them.

May 28 - Last Day Picnic, Clean up, and Awards
On the last day of school, all students in K-8 will be heading down to Hatten Park for a series of activities and lunch in the park.  Students ordering hot lunch will be served lunch at the park; students not ordering lunch should bring along a sack lunch that does not need to be microwaved. Students will then walk back to school after lunch for awards and final clean up of the classrooms. Students will be dismissed at the regular time of 3:05 pm.
