Other Events: 

NSW Council for Intellectual Disability: Disability Support Group
NSW CID is starting a social group for young people with intellectual disability. The group will run in Penrith. The group is for people 16-26. In the group people will chat about what is important to them and what they might want to change about their lives and communities. People who come will also have a chance to learn about the NDIS and how it affects them. You will also makes new friends in a  safe space.
 
The first group will be held at the Penrith Library Theatrette at 2pm on the 8th of September.
 
The group is free to attend. If you need any support to attend the group we can help.

Ashurst Law Firm: Employment 101 for Direct Payment Agreement Participants 
The Direct Payment scheme is a NSW government scheme giving people access to direct payment arrangements prior to the full roll out of the NDIS. Would you like to know more about how to use your Direct Payment Agreement to engage support workers?

Ashurst Australia is hosting a seminar on the legal issues that participants should consider when deciding how to engage carers and support workers.
