The month by month QE2 timeline details events that have happened to QE2 over the years.......and here are a few reminders of events that happened to the ship in the month of October.
4 October 1968 The Mast Goes on – wonderful photos of the John Brown’s cranes lifting QE2's mast into place. Fabulous picture posted below but you can see other photos and find out more by visiting this topic.
27 October 1974 Crash with Pier at Cherbourg - Forum members discuss this incident in 1974 when QE2 was blown away from her moorings and crashed into a dock injuring a dockside worker. David Risley recalled that "the ship was departing Cherbourg, she was being manoeuvred from the dockside, under the Pilots control when a broadside wind pushed her back onto the quayside causing about a 70 foot rent along the port side aft. The gash was almost a straight line about 15 feet above the water line" Enjoy reading and join in the discussions.
16 October 2008When QE2's made her final call to New York Cunardqueen was onboard. The photos he has posted on the QE2 Anniversaries topic give us an insight into this important occasion. Maybe you were onboard and have memories and pictures to share!

Again we have two different choices on offer, the Premium and the Standard, details of which are outlined on the Calendar Ordering page. All images used in each calendar are the same, although the choice of cover image is different between the two versions due to the differing formats of the layout. We have simply swapped images so that the cover image of one will be found on the inside pages of the other and vice-versa.
Thank-you for your continued support for the QE2 Story Forum. We know how special the ship is to everyone onboard the forum and we appreciate the contributions that are made to keep her memory alive.
