On 20 September 1967 QE2 was launched in Clydebank, a date that lives in the memory of those who love the ship. At that time it could never have been imaged the acclaim that the ship would achieve over her lifetime. Crowds would gather to see the ship and for those of use who travelled onboard there are ever lasting memories.

Last chance to enter this month's prize competition!
Our forum photo competition gives the opportunity to share our photographic memories and relive some of happiness that QE2 gave to us.
“QE2 attracts shoreside crowds” is our September photo competition theme. When we found that some members were struggling to find photos, Isabelle cleverly expanded the criteria to include members of professional crowds such as bands, dancers or other entertainers, just as long as the photo included a part of the star of the show our beautiful QE2.
Last chance to vote for your favourite photo in last month's competition!
We were pleased that the theme “Reflections and Shadows” attracted a lot of fabulous entries for last months competition. If you have not yet voted have a look at the photos and choose your favourite three pictures. A copy of the book "Queen Mary 2 the first ten years" by Stephen Payne is going to the winner. This book, donated by Cunard, was created for passengers on QM2's 10th Anniversary crossings and is not available for sale. Voting closes on 1 October.
Thank-you for your continued support for the QE2 Story Forum. We know how special the ship is to everyone onboard the forum and we appreciate the contributions that are made to keep her memory alive.
