We all are aware of the problem of homelessness in Windsor, but sometimes struggle to know what to do about it. One way that we can help is to support the project being run again this year by the churches in Windsor to provide a night shelter for part of the winter. This will be hosted by different churches through the week and, as well as providing food and shelter, aims to help those who are homeless feel more connected to the local community.
Volunteers are urgently needed and this presents an opportunity for us to practically show our ‘love of Windsor’.
There are different ways to be involved including:
helping with the shelter shifts (evening, overnight and morning shifts)
helping with the preparation of evening meals and breakfasts
helping with general administration tasks
The shelter will be open from 7pm to 8am, starting on 19th January 2020 and running for 8 weeks.
No previous experience is required as training will be provided.
Thank you to those who’ve already expressed an interest. Please fill in a volunteer form which we can email to you, or sign up at church.
