  • EP2C - Luxembourg, 19 - 23/10/2015
The project-based post-production workshop is heading to Luxembourg/Mondorf this autumn. It is open to 22 participants - 14 producers with a feature length project in advanced development and 8 post-production supervisors - and will look into a range of post-production issues from idea to delivery.

A number of sessions will be open to professionals from Luxembourg production and post-production companies. You can express your interest with Françoise Lentz at Film Fund Luxembourg, who will provide you with more information on terms and conditions.

  • EAVE+ - Luxembourg, 16-20/09/2015
Independent producers with a solid track record and international experience from Europe and the rest of the world have got a few more days to apply to EAVE+.
The intensive workshop brings together 12 to 15 experienced producers and 6 high-profile industry experts in an intimate setting to discuss company structures, management practices and new business models.
A limited number of scholarships for European participants is available.

  • EAVE Puentes - Europe/Latin America Co-Production Workshop 15/16
10 producers Latin American and European producers with projects will be selected for this two session workshop for professionals aiming to work on an international scale and to build long term business and creative relations between Europe and Latin America. 4 additional spots will be available to European professionals working in non-production -related fields.

  • MediMed'15: 'nomads of documentary'   Sitges 9-11/10/2015
Le marché du documentaire euro-méditerranéen vient de lancer son appel à projets et productions 2015.
Sur une période de 3 jours, jusqu'à 28 projets en développement ou en début de production seront présentés par leur équipe de production ainsi que leur télédiffuseur  dans une série de sessions ou lors de réunions privées.
Concernant les documentaires terminés (26' ou 52') les titres proposés doivent dater de 2014 ou 2015.

CPH:FORUM 2015 is now open for entries.
A total of max. 30 projects in the following will be selected, covering the following categories:
  • FICTIONONFICTION - challenging works in the hybrid landscape between fiction and non-fiction.
  • CINEMA – high-end theatrical feature length documentaries with international distribution potential.
  • F:ACT - projects bridging the fields of filmmaking, investigative journalism and activism.
  • ART - film projects conceptualized to be screened both within the institution of cinema and that of visual arts as well as festival screenings
Projects in development and early production are eligible. as long as visual presentation is ready by August 14 2015.

Etude 'Mapping the Animation Industry in Europe' - premiers résultats

L'Observatoire européen de l'audiovisuel a présenté les premiers résultats de son étude Mapping of the Animation Industry in Europe lors d'un atelier au Marché international du film d'animation à Annecy le 17 juin 2015. Le rapport final de l'étude, qui a été commandée et financée par Europe créative, sera présenté en fin d'année.

Lucia Recalde, chef de l'unité MEDIA de la DG Education et Culture de la Commission européenne a ouvert la conférence. La présentation des premières statistiques était suivie d'un panel d'experts composé de Luca Milano (RAI Fiction), Marc Dupontavice (Xilam Animation), Carlos Biern (BRB International), et Paul Young (Cartoon Salon), et modéré par Christophe Erbes.

New study - 'Showing films and other audiovisual content in European schools'
 

The European Commission has published a new comprehensive report with recommendations on the use of films and other audiovisual content in European schools. The study explores obstacles and best practice examples from a range of perspectives. Topics covered include film literacy in European curricula, ways of showing and distributing films and audiovisual material in schools and copyright issues.

The study can be downloaded here or on the Commission website free of charge.
