Primary School Michaelmas Festival
Angel Michael in Spring
Up until last week deep rumblings were heard throughout the Primary School; it was a fierce and fiery dragon waking up from its earthy den, making its way closer and closer to us. In anticipation of the festival the children sang songs of Angel Michael, calling on him for strength and power from up high, to face this dragon of fear.
But when Class 7 went into Covid isolation this past Monday the rumblings suddenly disappeared and with some huffing and puffing the dragon returned to his dark cave. Michael stood by us and for now we are safe!
With the quiet around we heard the birds singing joyfully again, we watched the trees covered in fresh green leaves and smelled the many spring flowers around. So on Friday at our festival we celebrated this joyful arrival of spring!
Archangel Michael watched over us as each class came onto the oval to share their dance/poem or musical piece with all children and teachers. It was the first time in two years that we came together like this. Class 4 concluded our festival with a magnificent Maypole dance. What a joy the see our light footed children dance together!
Class 7, you were very much in our hearts as we celebrated and we look forward to next term when you return.
Our deep deep gratitude goes out to Mrs. Goodall for guiding us and to all our dear musicians who accompanied us so graciously!
Dear Parents, you were very much missed. May the joy of this festival ring in your homes through your children!

End of Term Letter from
The College of Teachers

To our staff, parents and the wider Michael Oak community,

We have come to the end of the third term and are mindful of the unpredictable times that we live in. We have had to deal with the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic that saw many parents, teachers, support staff and students get sick and have to cope with all that it brought. Despite these obstacles, the staff and teachers at Michael Oak have steadfastly and resolutely continued to deliver the best that they could to our beloved children.

On behalf of the College of Teachers, we would like to thank the teachers and support staff for their passionate dedication to serve our community. We are deeply grateful to all our parents who support and partner with us in the development and education of the children in our care.

We wish you a happy, healthy break and safe travels if you are going away.

Warm blessings and greetings

Michael Oak College of Teachers

Annual Fees Increase

14th September 2021

Dear Parents,
The Board of Trustees and the College of Teachers have, upon the recommendation of the Finance Committee, determined that the school fee and levy increase for 2022 will be 5% from Kindergarten through to Class 13. The 2022 Fee Sheet will be emailed to parents on Monday 20 September 2021.
Trustees and College have consciously kept the increase in line with projected inflation rate and will continue to manage the operating budget with care to limit any future increases above inflation within an acceptable range.
Sundry costs will be increased according to class calculated according to actual costs.
Sibling rebates will still apply in 2022 and this will automatically be credited on your school fee account (no application will be needed).
Annual school fees paid by 31 January 2022 will receive a 3% rebate.
Monthly school fee payments are to be made in advance. Statements are issued during the last week of the month and payment is expected on the first day, but not later than 7th day of the following month. Parents are requested to use the account number of their child(ren) as a reference to facilitate receipting and reconciliation.
The school has a debit order system in place, we would like to encourage all parents to go onto this system to allow easier management for the accounts department.
Late payments will continue to attract an administration fee of R150 per month.
This is the time of year that we need to remind parents of the school’s requirement that if a child is leaving Michael Oak at the end of the year, then the family is contractually required to give one full term’s notice in writing. Unfortunately, failure to do so will result in fees being charged in lieu of such notice. Notice of withdrawal can be dropped off at the office or emailed to
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions on any matter concerning the school fees or the budget.
