Welcome to this Bonus Edition of Voisins Voices
You may have seen reports last week suggested the deadline to apply for residency had been extended. The deadline remains tomorrow, 30 June.
If you haven’t applied yet, please do so as soon as you can, ahead of the deadline tomorrow. Don’t worry if you haven’t got all the documents you need, apply with what you have and you can add further detail later.
For more guidance on how to do so, please visit our Living in France Guide.
Most people find the process quick and easy, but if you or someone you know needs support, for example you live in a remote area or have mobility difficulties, please contact one of the organisations funded by the UK Nationals Support Fund.
We are pleased to be able to share with you some good news about driving licences!
The UK has reached an agreement with France on mutual recognition of driving licences. Our agreement means those with a valid UK licence can continue to drive in France.
If your licence has expired or is due to expire in the next 6 months you should apply to exchange it from with the Agence Nationale des Titres Sécurisés (ANTS) via their online platform.
If you have questions about what this means for you, please visit our FAQs Facebook post or the driving section of our Living in France guide.
We were delighted to welcome so many of you to our online Queen’s Birthday Party last week, and we hope you found the evening both useful and enjoyable. Thank you for all the great feedback! If you registered and either didn’t make it on the night or want to go back to check on a couple of details, the site will remain accessible for the next three weeks via the log-in details you were sent last week.
Given the 30 June deadline for Residency Permits, we have been sending you Voisins Voices weekly through June. We’ll now go back to sending it monthly, and will shortly also advertise the date for our July Online Outreach. Facebook Q&As will also continue through July, before we take a break in August.
