From Friend of PCMS, Ben Eisner, J.D., MPA:
“I have read and understand the terms and conditions”

This short phrase stands as the seemingly immovable obstruction between us and numerous downloads, activities, and transactions.  But just as quickly as this impediment appears, a way passed is offered by simply clicking the box.  Invariably we accept this invitation without as much as a second thought.  But what were those terms and conditions?  What did I agree to?

These are important questions to keep in mind, not only for the next time you’re faced with the option of clicking the box, but also when thinking about your employment contract.  Have you read and understand the terms and conditions?

What's your Facebook HIPAA Policy?

Now that we are all dependent on social media for GOOD ratings and new business from those ratings, how do you handle HIPAA compliance?
Please monitor your business Facebook page to look for accidental breaches.
For example, a patient may praise you about the procedure you performed, with details. What will you do then?
When you remove that post, will you be reaching back to that patient to explain why you removed it?
Do implement a strategy and policy for these posts. If you need more professional help, Click HERE for a link for coursework (no affiliation with PCMS, simply a connection for Society Members.)

We'll be asking Dr. Clark Gaither, a.k.a. Dr. Burnout, to come back this Spring.

Watch for the Schedule addition!
