I hope this message finds you well. I know that many of you have been eagerly waiting for more details as it pertains to “Phase 2”, or in-person learning tentatively starting at Willard during the week of April 12th from 1:00 to 3:00pm. I appreciate your patience and partnership during this time.
With that, here are some important updates:
Willard’s Phase 2 Schedule:Here is the Phase 2 schedule that Willard will be operating on. Please note that the times of the morning distance learning zoom classes have changed. If your family has chosen not to return to in-person learning, please be on the lookout for more information for additional programming that Willard would like to be providing your students as well.
In-Person Student Specific Phase 2 Schedules: If your family has chosen to have your student return to Willard for in-person learning, then your students advisory teacher will be sending you an email tomorrow informing you which days (Monday/Tuesday or Thursday/Friday) your student(s) are being requested to come to Willard.
Welcome Back Video: If you and your family has yet to watch Willard’s Welcome Back Video, please check it out here. There is a lot of helpful, comical, and important information in this video.
Middle School Townhall: Tonight BUSD will host a Middle School Town Hall meeting to provide more in-depth information about middle school schedules, review health and safety protocols for students returning to our campuses, and answer community questions. Zoom link here.
PTA Willard Family Community Meeting: Please join us tomorrow, March 31 at our next PTA gathering at 6:30 PM on this zoom link -- this will be an opportunity to reconnect with other Willard families prior to the beginning of the hybrid learning phase at Willard. We know some families will be sending their students back for the in-person offering, and some will choose to remain in full distance-learning mode - all are welcome to attend this gathering and be a part of the discussion.
Open House: Open house for the 20/21 school year has been cancelled.
BUSD Summer Programming: Summer School 2021 starts on June 14 and runs for 4-6 weeks. Please see this catalog for more detailed information. You can sign up for the City of Berkeley programs and other camps now. Enrollment for BUSD programs will begin after spring break.
The Willard Update is the school's electronic newsletter, used for sending important messages from school administration and PTA to our community; the newsletters are prepared by a PTA parent volunteer (email@example.com).
