ASPIRE PARENT WORKSHOP IS THIS WEDNESDAY, MARCH 17
Dear Willard Parents:

I just wanted to remind you that you are invited to the ASPIRE Program’s next Parent Workshop of our “ Do Not Throw in the Towel” Miniseries.  Our next workshop will take place next Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 6PM on Zoom.  The topic of this next workshop is Adolescent Development.

Please see the flyer in English and Español to register and obtain more information, including a link for registration and the Zoom login details.  Do not hesitate to reach out to me should you have any questions.  Also, feel free to share this with other Willard parents who you think may benefit from attending.

The ASPIRE (Adolescent Services Providing Inspiration, Recovery & Education) program has provided services to Willard Middle School for more than five years and Alameda County for more than two decades. The program is funded through Alameda County Behavioral Healthcare Services. The goals of the program are to prevent and reduce substance use and to improve health and wellness and school performance of the students. Last year, 97.5% of Willard students receiving services reported it helped them understand the negative effects of drugs and alcohol. Additionally, 100% of faculty surveyed reported improvement among students who participated in the program, including overall attitude, behavior, and school performance.

WILLARD FAMILY COMMUNITY GATHERING -- WEDNESDAY, MARCH 31
The Willard PTA would like to offer our families a chance to connect as we prepare for the hybrid model coming up at Willard. We know some families will be sending their students back for the in-person offering, and some will choose to remain in full distance-learning mode. For all families, we want to invite you to join us at our next PTA gathering, on Wednesday, March 31 at 6:30 PM on Zoom (link coming) to just reconnect and share what you and your students might be feeling about this next phase at Willard, and hopefully find support in community.

WILLARD YEARBOOK - PLEASE SUBMIT PHOTOS!
Hey Willard Students and Parents! Did you know there is a Willard Target Yearbook this year? We are furiously working on putting one together, despite not being on campus. We have asked students for a portrait photo and other random photos (Forms are located under their Grade Level Hubs). We want to create more sections in the yearbook that represent Willard Students from Afar -- photos of them working at their desk, meeting friends in Zoom, working on projects, playing sports, music, social distancing with friends, hanging out with Family. We want copies of poetry they have written, pictures they have drawn..... all school-appropriate photos will be accepted. Our Willard Target Editors will sift through the photos and create sections based on what we receive. They can upload as many photos as you want (up to 10 per form) -- we will fit in as many as we can.

DEADLINE FOR PHOTO SUBMISSIONS WILL BE APRIL 30TH, 2021.

Following are the links to the forms, and are accessible only to students logged in with their student email accounts. If parents/guardians would like to submit photos directly as well, they can do so by emailing Sharon Arthur (sharonarthur@berkeley.net).
