Science & Discovery
There are so many exciting activities planned for the coming week! We want to take the opportunity to let you know about some of the activities we have planned for the week, and provide you with information on calendar changes. Our activity theme for the week is Science and Discovery.
Each day we participate in a variety of activities designed to help strengthen sensory-motor, cognitive, communicative and social skills. Gross Motor Activities help children learn to control those body movements that require the use of large muscles in the legs, arms and torso. Sensory Activities and Science Projects help meet sensory needs and aid in the discovery of cause and effect. Arts and Crafts foster creativity and the use and development of fine motor skills. In addition we have several Field Trips or Presentations planned and an opportunity to participate in a daily Gathering (Circle Time). Each of these activities also can provide an opportunity for developing social skills as we learn to participate in a large or small group and work together as a team.
This week's activities include:
Gross motor: Outside play (weather permitting), Car lot, 5 Base & Capture the Flag
Arts & Crafts: Volcano, Spinning Craft
Sensory / Science: Sponges & Snowball Fight
Field Trips:
Tuesday - Bass Pro Shop
Wednesday - Music @ Dobson Ranch Library
Friday - IDEA Museum (Arizona Museum for Youth)
