From the Club President
It’s Showtime!!

I am so excited that we are nearing the date and time of our Holiday Movies on Ice show!!  Thank you to all coaches, club members, and families for coming together to make this event such a fun success!

Our Artistic Director, Lisa Perri, has had such a wonderful vision for this show.  This year’s show will be different than our shows in the past and we are all so eager to see all the pieces together!

Our costume committee has done an outstanding job!  Every outfit is adorable!!  Thank you to committee members Carissa Carroll, Sandy James, Michelle Matuszak, Kristen Perkins, and Silvana Torres!

Thank you to Lilia Baiza and Hittomi Ratthe for continuing to tirelessly sell show and raffle tickets during the Learn to skate sessions!

Thank you to Danielle Larson for getting our show shirts ordered, to Lisa Perri for organizing the shirts, and to Michelle Matuszak for distributing our shirts to cast members!  Thank you Lisa and Michelle for giving us the idea for this show shirt contest – I believe this will continue to be a fun tradition!

Thank you to the Feminella, Russo, Rowley, Perri, and Kruszewski families for storing our decorations and props.  The props are amazing!  Thank you to everyone who put so many hours into creating these!  In order to help store these props, we needed to clean out and re-organize our storage pod.  A huge thanks goes to Catherine Feminella and Jeff Rowley for undertaking this task!

Special thanks goes out to Kerry Louderback-Wood for reaching out to local daycares, senior living facilities, and news outlets.  We appreciate all your time and energy, Kerry!

Now it is time for one more dedicated burst of energy!  Please read all the emails and website information that has been sent and posted recently.  Our webmaster, Lynda Rowley spends many, many hours trying get information out to all members.  Please look at our volunteer needs – we could really use more hands setting up and cleaning up on the day of the show – you won’t miss a minute of the action!  Thank you to all who have helped along the way – your time, ideas, and resources are very much noticed and appreciated!!
On with the show!
Skate on,

Holiday Show

Our Holiday Show is this Saturday, December 12th, at 2:00 PM!!

Look below and throughout this newsletter for some of the ways that you can help this show be the best one yet!
  • Spread the Word: Print our advertisement flyer and hang it up on the bulletin boards in your community (please ask first!). When we send a Holiday Show Facebook announcement featuring the ad or talking about how to get tickets, share it on your own Facebook page. If you think of a place or way that we missed, please let us know!
  • Volunteer: We will need volunteers on show day - plenty of them! We have added the volunteer slots to VolunteerSpot . This is the same link as the one for Ticket Sales - you'll need to look at December 12th, for the show day volunteer jobs.
Holiday Show Ticket Sales Contest

Ticket Sales: We will be selling tickets at all of the Learn to Skate sessions through Friday, December 11th, 2015. You can sign up to sell at one of those sessions on VolunteerSpot. The tickets are here and ready to hand out for the Ticket Sales Contest. You can pick up your tickets for the contest at this table as well.
As much as we promote the show, we have learned over the years that our skaters are our BEST salespeople! We ask that each skater think TEN. Please make that your goal!  This year, we have a fun ticket sales contest for the skaters. Any Club Member can participate in this contest. Sell tickets to your neighbors, family, friends, classmates, co-workers, religious organization, sports organization, scouts, etc.

Tickets for this year's Holiday Show are $10 each (children 3 years old and under are free). We are selling each Learn to Skate student a ticket for $5; this is only for the skater, the family is required to pay full price. Only full price tickets will count toward the contest.

As in the past, tickets are available via paypal on our website at If someone would like to give you credit for the ticket sale, they need to put your name in the memo portion of the paypal sale. All paypal ticket sales will need to bring a copy of their receipt to the 'will call' table to pick up their tickets.

Contest will end December 11th, 2015. All unsold tickets and money will need to be turned in by Dress Rehearsal. Any tickets sold on the day of the show do not count.  Winners to be announced during the show. Prizes will be distributed to winners during the following week. In the event of a tie, a coin flip will determine each winner.

  • *1st Prize: One Month Freestyle Card - $400
  • *2nd Prize: $300 Gift Card for Custom or Stock Boots from Harlick
  • *3rd Prize: $250 Gift Card for Boot/Blade Combo from Reidell
How you win:

  • *The individual members who sell the most tickets will be eligible to win one of three gift prizes.
  • *Remember: The ticket sale contest will end on Friday, December 11th, 2015.
Pick up/turn in tickets at the ticket sales table during any Learn to Skate session in November and early December. If you would like to work a ticket sales table, please go to our VolunteerSpot link to sign up. Volunteers working the tickets sales tables will split the number of sales for that hour for the purposes of the contest. If you have any questions, contact Lynda at

Safe Sport

U.S. Figure Skating and the Florida Everblades Figure Skating Club strive to provide a safe environment for its members, one that is free of abuse and harassment. All of our Board Members will be taking the SafeSport certification program and we encourage all skaters, parents and coaches to follow Safe Sport guidelines.

You can find more information about Safe Sport on our website or on the USFS website. Please contact us with any questions at

Just  a reminder - in light of the recent reports of stranger danger, it is even more important to make sure that each person (child or adult) is aware of their surroundings. Our Media Team will be wearing ID badges during events and any time they are taking pictures for the club.

Parents, please talk to your skaters.Tell them that they can come to any coach, rec employee, or club parent if they feel uncomfortable about any situation. Also tell your skaters to make sure that someone knows where they are if they are not on the Freestyle Ice and have not left for the day. Parents, please remind your skaters to be S.M.A.R.T. (Safety Means Always Recognizing Trouble).

Encourage Doing Great things Everyday!

Have you seen a skater go above and beyond to help or encourage another person (on or off the ice)? Do they excel in academics or art? Do they have another special talent? We want to hear about anything AWESOME a skater has done!
Please email us at with subject line: Project Edge and the skater's name. Give us a brief description of how the skater has been doing great things.  Skater's will be recognized in the newsletter and in the website news.
Project EDGE is a campaign created by Florida Everblades Figure Skating Club to Encourage Doing Great things Everyday in our skaters!
