Dean's Message

University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Nursing is evolving to ensure graduation of competent novice and advanced practice nurses in a period of dramatic change in health care delivery in Hawaiʻi. As we start this new academic year, enrollment is high and demand for our programs is strong.

We thank our alumni and friends for their generous support of the school through gifts for scholarships and fundraising on our behalf. A special mahalo to the many of you that donated during the student calling campaign!

UHM Nursing Alumni Association

President's Message

Aloha Mai Kākou!

On behalf of all nursing alumni, I extend a warm and welcoming aloha to students, faculty and staff as the 2014 Fall semester gets underway. As busy activity and excitement abounds again in the many halls of UH Mānoa, we particularly welcome new students, as well as returning students, to the various nursing programs with wishes of a productive and successful school year.
In June, the Class of 1964 hosted and celebrated special reunion events that were organized by class members. Alumni gathered at a luncheon at Willows restaurant to share hugs, precious memories and reconnect friendships - many of whom had not seen each other since graduation day.

It was an honor to present UH Alumni Association Golden Scholar medallions to alumni who did not attend our May Scholarship Fundraiser. Class members also had an opportunity to visit the School and marveled at technological advancements at the UH Translational Health Science Simulation Center.
Please mark your calendars for October 20, 2014 for UHMNAA’s Pau Hana Homecoming Event. The event will be held on campus at the Paradise Palm Cafe beginning at 5:30 pm. The event is open to all alumni, students, faculty and friends. We hope you’ll take time to enjoy fellowship, network and reconnect with old friends and colleagues.

Mahalo nui loa!
