Sunday...

I hope to see you on Sunday morning for our weekly time of worship and Bible teaching. Once again, Nigel and Rowena will be helping to lead us in our worship (with a slight twist this week!), and I will be leading us a bit further in our teaching on the book of Revelation. Church Meeting...

For all those in formal Membership at CBC we have a Church Meeting this coming Thursday (26^th May), at 7pm in the church. There are a few things to prayerfully discuss together – not least the proposed refurbishment of the chapel. Moving ahead with this would be a big step for us – one that we have previously agreed to explore and which the Leadership Team can now bring before the Membership in much more detail. As with all Church Meetings, we are not gathering to express what WE want, individually, and then take a vote. We are meeting prayerfully, and in the Lord’s name, to seek to discern His guidance and leading in this matter. We will hope to reach a consensus about the way forward, and also discuss a few other matters too, on Thursday evening.

The Queen's Jubilee...

As you probably know, the Queen’s platinum jubilee will be celebrated nationally on Sunday 5^th June, when there will be lots of community events and activities taking place up and down the country. At Colwell Baptist Church, our small “Prayer and Care team” will be hosting an afternoon “High Tea” of sandwiches, tea and cake in the church hall from 3pm-5pm. Because we are a bit limited for space in our church hall though, we want to prioritise some of the older members of the church family and will be inviting them first – before then widening it out a bit. So if you don’t get an invitation then I am really really sorry – but it just means that you’re not old enough! And if you do get invited then it’s not because you’re old (honest!) – we have obviously widened it out already and you’ve only been included to make up numbers. In other words, either way, please don’t be offended that we can’t fit everyone into the hall. We really wish we could…but we can’t!
