Mothering Sunday...

This Sunday (27th March) will be the 4th Sunday in Lent, traditionally celebrated as “Mothering Sunday”. As such, we will be celebrating motherhood (in all its forms) as part of the service. For many people, a day labelled “Mother’s Day” stirs up a mixture of emotions, some extremely painful - and I am very aware of that. Nonetheless, we will be inviting children to distribute a pose of daffodils to every lady in the congregation at the start of the service. (Just so you know in advance).

Clocks Change...

Please remember that on Saturday night the clocks spring forward by one hour. If you forget to change your clocks, then you’ll miss church on Sunday and you will turn up an hour late - just in time for me to stop talking, introduce the final song and invite everyone to stay for tea/coffee in the hall. You are not allowed to do this on purpose, then use British Summer Time as your excuse!!

COVID-19...

You may be aware that we have recently had a number of people from the congregation test positive for Covid. Let’s uphold one-another in prayer. Let’s also, please, be wise…don’t come to church onsite (instead watch online) if you suspect that you may have Covid yourself. Please take a LFD test prior to coming. If in doubt, these are guidelines that our sons’ school (CTK) recently circulated to parents;

 ------------------------------------------

If you develop symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), you should get a PCR test (https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test or call 119) and remain at home at least until the result is known and you are fever free (without medication) for at least 24 hours.

  • If negative, you can end self-isolation and return to usual work/community/school activities.
  • If positive, then you should isolate as a positive case (see below)

People who test positive for COVID-19 should self-isolate at home until they are well enough to return, no longer have a temperature and either:

  1. Ten full days have passed, or
  2. They have produced two negative LFD tests on consecutive days, with the first taken no earlier than day five.
