Did you know there is a week in September dedicated to informing, engaging, and connecting Canadians with the democratic process?

Canada's Democracy Week aims to give Canadians the tools to start making their plan to vote by identifying where, when and the ways that they can register and vote in the upcoming 2015 federal election. Check out the official website to find out how you can get involved and get inspired!

Civic Literacy for Voters

Are you planning to vote in the upcoming federal election on October 19, 2015? Elections Canada and ABC Literacy have created an informative resource that will give you the knowledge and skills you need to exercise your democratic right to vote in Canada! It explains:
  • How voting and federal elections work;
  • Why it’s important to vote;
  • How to register so you are allowed to participate;
  • How to vote on Election Day or ahead of time at an advance poll or by mail;
  • The types of identification you’ll need to vote
  • What to expect when you go to your polling station; and
  • How polling places have been made accessible for every voter.
