WE'RE IN THIS TOGETHER

And, We're Here to Help

We recognize the past few weeks have created significant shifts and disruptions in how we approach our daily life and work, but we stand ready to help as we continue our commitment to transforming recycling for good.

With regard to COVID-19, The Recycling Partnership is closely monitoring the advice and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the World Health Organization (WHO) and will share important updates via our social media channels and our City and County Recycling Coordinators Group.

If we can assist in providing guidance to your local program when it comes to technology, communications, or other program needs, our team stands ready to assist, even if only to be a sounding board.

COVID-19 Talking Points for Communities

More than 84% of Americans view recycling as a valuable public service. Our below talking points will help you keep your community updated as to how COVID-19 impacts to the important service you provide.

We welcome and encourage you to share these on your website, social media, and other communication channels. If you share via social media, be sure to use your community's #hashtags as well as #COVID19 #RecyclingMatters.

If services are continuing as is:

  • Recycling is important to our community and our planet. Despite the challenges our community is presently facing, recycling is an essential service. We plan to continue our recycling service at this time.
  • Since you may be spending more time at home, check in on what is and what is not recyclable in your neighborhood. Check our website (insert link) for that information and to stay-up-to-date on the status of our service.
  • Please make sure you are checking our social media feeds and our website for information on the status of your recycling service at this challenging time.

If there are scheduling changes:

  • Recycling is important to our community and our planet. With our community’s current challenges, we have made the difficult decision to change our recycling service schedule. Please check our (website/other communication challenges) for your updated schedule.
  • At this time, we are temporarily shortening our recycling drop-off hours from X to Y. Accepted materials have not changed. Visit (insert link) to find a drop-ff location near you.
  • During this challenging time, our drop-off recycling locations are temporarily closed; however, our curbside recycling program will continue. Visit (insert link) to learn more.
