PTA Meeting - Reminder
We are holding an informal get together for parents interested in being involved in a Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) on Thursday 17th July, at 8pm.
A chance for us to meet over a glass of something lovely and share ideas and skills for fundraising, extra-curricular activities and any other ways in which we can make La Fontaine fantastique!
Please join us at

High Street BR1 1DN
Thank you to all the Reception parents and children who attended the Induction Mornings over the past couple of weeks. It was great to see so many of you, be able to answer your questions, and discuss key tips for children to be ready for September.
We are now liaising with Bromley Council to allocate our remaining places. There are a few places left and letters have now been sent out to the dozens of families in Bromley who haven't got places for their children. Places will be allocated to them on a 'first-come, first-served' basis.
I will be contacting you when our Funding Agreement has been signed. This should now happen in the next couple of weeks (or so we are told by the Department for Education). At that point, you will be able to inform the school that has also offered you a place that you will no longer be accepting it.
I will contact Nurseries/Primary Schools soon after the Funding Agreement has been signed (but I will let you know first) to request your child's file.
Events in 2014-2015
I have now added some events in our school calendar (Induction Days before the beginning of the school year, special Assemblies, Parents' Evenings, Open Days for prospective families, etc.): click here for details.
Some of you have been telling other parents about some traditional holiday activities lots of French children do every summer. As promised, here are the details: click here. The books are all in French but contain activities which do not require any knowledge of French (games involving numbers, shapes, colours, etc.). I'm sure French parents will remember using these books as children (I certainly do!).
Questionnaires will be sent out before we start school as well as on the first day of school.
Before we start school:
- A health questionnaire (including dietary requirements, allergies, health issues such as Asthma, etc.). This will be emailed to you but also posted to you.
On the first day:
- Clubs questionnaires for people to sign up to our breakfast and after-school clubs (which will, I hope, begin in the first week or two after we start school).
- STEP Zone (childcare and holiday clubs) questionnaires for people to sign up.
Sharing in Learning
On regular occasions, parents will be invited to spend some time at school to 'Share in Learning'.
Coffee Mornings will take place regularly and there will be occasions for Reception families to spend some time in class with the children to see what they are working on.
There will also be regular Assemblies for parents to attend and celebrate the children's work.
