Wines you should be drinking for Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving

From the Sierra Nevada Imports Family

Other than my own birthday (and Easter) Thanksgiving is my favorite day of the year. Sure there is turkey and the trimmings but I like this day because it is about being with people you actually like choice. As promised, here is my list of wines for Thanksgiving. But drink what you like and let no one tell you what wines to like! Click on the wine labels for more information and to purchase.

For the month of November we are offering FREE GROUND SHIPPING on ALL orders of 3 bottles or more!

Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving!

2007 Mas Tinell Cava Nature Real Gran Reserva

Why? Because this extra extra dry Spanish sparkling wine will match the appetizers and happily segue into the main course. It prepares your palate for the upcoming feast and you can impress your guests by serving a vintage Spanish sparkling Cava.  And you can sip this one with the desserts too.

2011 Chateau de Javernand Macon-Villages

Why? This affordable Burgundian white is 100% Chardonnay. This wine is simply delicious!  It is bright fruit forward wine with floral notes and white pears would match well with appetizers, salad and ham.

2012 Chateau des Sarrins Blanc Secret

Why? Its no secret that this 100% Rolle (a.k.a Vermentino)  from Provence  with it's lemony, nutty, smoky notes is a good match for bold foods. So, turkey or ham, this can be your go to white wine for the main course. $23.99

2013 Domaine Passot Régnié

Why? Red meat or white meat? Either way Gamay Noir is a natural pair for your hoiliday turkey. This wine from Remy & Dominique is an easy to love wine. With ample fruits, this juicy wine will match up with yams and meat alike.

2013 Domaine Matray Juliénas Les Paquelets

Why? Another 100% Gamay Noir that is well structured, perfumed and fruity. This one holds up well to a potluck because it is complex enough to handle green beans, turkey, ham, mashed potatoes and yes, even pumpkin pie! (no, really). And at this price, get a case and enjoy it with leftovers.

2010 Pagos de Matanegra Vendemia Seleccionada

Why? Because sometimes we want a wine that just kicks ass. This 100% Tempranillo is one complex wine full of cocoa, vanilla, anise, fine leather, pencil, fine cigars and red and blue fruits. The finish is long and lingers on the palate. This is a gorgeous wine that make your meal really special. Just decant it 2 hours before. By the way, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate gave this wine 93 POINTS!
