Dairy Farmers Elect New Leadership for Checkoff Boards of Directors

During the virtual ADA North East annual meeting on Tuesday, the dairy farmer board of directors elected fellow farmer Audrey Donahoe of Clayville, N.Y., to serve as board president, effective immediately. Jeff Raney of Adamsville, Pa., was previously re-elected to serve as chair of the Pennsylvania Dairy Promotion Program, which is managed by ADA North East, and will also serve as Donahoe’s first vice president.

‘This American Dairy Farmer’ – New York Dairy Farmer Featured in Second Video Series Episode

Hosted by ADA North East, a new consumer-facing dairy farmer video series will air weekly on our Facebook page to help build trust in dairy by making a personal connection with the farm families. The second farmer host is Mark Murray of Murcrest Farm LLC., Copenhagen, N.Y., and the first of his two-part episode airs this Saturday, March 27, at 10 a.m.

“As a dairy farmer, I believe it is important to share our farm and our story with the community and consumers of the products we help to produce,” said Murray.

Checkoff Research Fuels U.S. Cheese Surge

U.S. cheese is rising in popularity – a 9% increase in per capita consumption over the past five years - thanks to dairy checkoff research, which drives innovation, and innovation drives sales. Dairy Management Inc.’s Senior Vice President of Product Research Bill Graves shares how dairy farmers’ long-term investment in the checkoff-funded National Dairy Foods Research Centers is growing U.S. cheese sales.
