This month, McDonald’s is launching its new low-fat chocolate milk – with 25 percent less sugar. The recipe was formulated with dairy checkoff’s help to offer kids another milk option – and to help boost fluid milk sales.

ADA North East’s Breakfast After the Bell program is implemented throughout the year. By the end of 2019, an additional 243,813 students were served breakfast in our region, which is an estimated additional 182,860 half-pints served daily, and 98,287.25 pounds of milk.

Conservation Funding Available for PA Farmers in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed
Consumers are beginning to make more purchasing decisions based on farmers’ conservation and stewardships practices. To help build demand and sales of milk and dairy, ADA North East’s sustainability strategy is focusing on helping dairy farmers find more ways to show their commitment to stewardship.

Dairy Checkoff to Host Speakers at PA Dairy Summit  
ADA North East will sponsor two keynote speakers at the 2020 Pennsylvania Dairy Summit on Feb. 5-6, in State College. Sue McCloskey, creative director for Fair Oaks Farms, will discuss fluid milk innovation, and Dr. Frank Mitloehner, animal science professor and air quality expert from University of California-Davis, will share research about the relationship between animal agriculture and climate change. 

Themed “Reignite,” the summit aims to spark excitement and encourage collaboration across the dairy industry. Registration is due Jan. 27.
