52nd Butter Sculpture Unveiled Today - Pays Tribute to Dairy Farmers, Parents and Schools that Ensure Children are Nourished and Learning in a ‘New Normal’
Themed “Nourishing Our Future,” the 52nd annual ADA North East butter sculpture pays tribute to those who ensure children are nourished and learning. The 800-pound sculpture depicts a dairy farmer providing milk to a child learning from home with his mother and a virtual teacher present in a laptop screen, and to a child learning in school with a school nutrition worker delivering a meal tray to the classroom. Watch the entire butter sculpture unveiling right here!

New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Commissioner Richard Ball and dairy farmer Lisa Porter of Porterdale Farmers, Adams Center, N.Y., participated in the unveiling.

After deconstruction, the butter will go to Noblehurst Farm in Linwood, N.Y., for recycling in their methane digester.

Geo-targeted Ads Help Thousands of Families Find Summer Meals Food Sites
Families who depend on school meals still need them when school is not in session. ADA North East used “geo-targeting” of social media ads to help families find Summer Meals locations in specific zip codes where the need was greatest. The ads received more than 32,600 clicks to find a meal and racked up about 7.7 million social media impressions! The meal distribution sites are part of USDA’s Summer Food Service Program, helping millions of students access milk and meals while school is out.
