Checkoff partner Pizza Hut has a new recipe – Mozzarella Poppers Pizza – that features 16 crispy mozzarella-filled squares baked right into the crust. Checkoff scientists were involved in developing the cheesy new recipe that includes almost double the amount of cheese compared to a traditional hand-tossed pizza! 
Space = Sales in Retail Dairy Aisles
Research shows that increased shelf space for dairy products in retail stores’ refrigeration cases boosts dairy sales. By providing a wider variety of choices from a clean, organized case encourages shoppers to spend more time and more dollars in the dairy aisle.

New York State Dairy Royalty Selected to Raise Consumer Awareness, Confidence in Industry

Natalie Vernon, the daughter of Casey and Dawn Vernon of Wayne County, was named the 2020-2021 New York State Dairy Princess on Tuesday. She will devote the next year as a dairy industry ambassador supporting ADA North East strategies with the goal of building consumer awareness and confidence in dairy farmers and dairy products.

Nominate Deserving Farms for Dairying for Tomorrow Awards 
Applications are now being accepted for the 2020 Dairying for Tomorrow awards to recognize farmers’ passion for dairying and who use exemplary practices in three categories: animal care, community outreach and environmental stewardship. The program highlights farms that will help lead the industry into the future. Applications are due March 31.

Tom Gallagher Talks Candidly About Understanding Animal Activists, Consumer Demands
“The consumer is looking for the story behind the product, and that story they’re looking for most often is sustainability,” said DMI CEO Tom Gallagher in an Agri-Pulse Communications interview this week.
He delves into consumer demands, dairy’s sustainability efforts, and the ulterior motives of animal activists to rid the world of all animal agriculture.
