Dairying for Tomorrow Award Winners Recognized at Maryland State Fair
Dairying for Tomorrow award winners were recognized during the Holstein show at the Maryland State Fair on Monday. Misty Meadows Farm, Smithsburg, Maryland, received the overall Dairying for Tomorrow animal care award.
After the Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners helped deconstruct the 800-pound butter sculpture from this year’s New York State Fair, the butter was taken to Noblehurst Farms in Pavilion, N.Y. It was recycled in the farm’s methane digester and converted into renewable energy and liquid fertilizer.
