Dairy Farmers Speak Up for Dairy in Media Interviews at Milk Distribution Events
This week, more than 62,800 gallons of milk will be distributed to New York and Pennsylvania families in need, as ADA North East continues to work with local dairy processors, cooperatives and community groups. Pennsylvania dairy farmer Diane Hoover is participating in today’s milk drive in Lebanon, Pa.

This month, ADA North East pitched a story to media about how farmers are keeping cows cool during the current heat wave. The story quoted several dairy farmers from within the region about the cooling methods they use on their farms.
Local Dairy Farmer Helps Students Get Healthy at Fuel Up to Play 60 Virtual Summit
American Dairy Association North East hosted its first-ever virtual Fuel Up to Play 60 (FUTP60) Summit for 46 student ambassadors and nine program advisors from throughout the region.  Madrid, N.Y., dairy farmer Kelsey O’Shea, an advocate for the program, joined the conference from her freestall barn at Maple View Dairy.

Burger King Stops Running Low-Methane Ad Thanks to Dairy Checkoff Supporter
University of California-Davis professor and air quality extension specialist Frank Mitloenher participated in an interview on AgriTalk, as a follow-up to last week’s Burger King announcement about developing a burger from cows on a low-methane diet. The announcement met with much skepticism about the science and confusion over the strategy.
