Placing dairy in secondary locations in the grocery store – like cheese in the meat or produce departments, yogurt and whipped cream with berries and fruit, butter in the seafood section or milk in grab-and-go coolers – can boost dairy sales up to 7 percent.

Watch this butter sculpture video tribute featuring the buttery artworks sponsored by Pennsylvania dairy farmers dating back to 1991. Hosted by dairy farmer, ADA North East board member and Dairy Management Inc. chair Marilyn Hershey, Cochranville, Pa., the video shows clips of the sculptures and an explanation by dairy farmer Brett Reinford of Mifflintown, Pa., who recycles the butter in his farm’s methane digester.

Pennsylvania Dairy Princess Gabrielle Swavely is representing the state’s dairy farmers during ADA North East’s Undeniably Dairy Shake-Off Milkshake Contest this week as part of the virtual Pennsylvania Farm Show. Six media teams from across the state shared their milkshake recipes on Wednesday, and virtual voting is ongoing through Saturday, Jan. 16, at 8 a.m.
