CRCC Corner

“Keep Calm and Share Your Thoughts"

Hello to all the members of our CRCC community.

With the renewal of COVID19 restrictions we are once again closing our doors for the next six weeks. We have been looking forward to welcoming everyone back, but we know that it's important that we do our best to ensure the safety of everyone in our Centre and in the wider community. So while this is disappointing, it also feels like the right and necessary thing to do.

We already have some courses ready for online delivery, and will be developing more content in the coming weeks. Classes available online for next term include Watercolours, Oil painting, Italian, Spanish, Mandarin and German language classes, English conversation and Computer support. We encourage you all to share your ideas on what programs or activities we could facilitate to further support you all, be it training or social engagement. We also encourage you to visit our new website for updates, activities and information and find us on Facebook.
*All of these links are available at the bottom of this email*

We will continue to check emails and phone messages, and we will do our best to get back to you quickly if you have questions or concerns.

Meanwhile, stay safe and best wishes from all of us at CRCC.

Seeking Community Feedback!

Enlighten us with your thoughts, we want to hear from you.

We want to develop programs, training and support groups tailored to you! It is our goal to provide a service and assist with community connections through these uncertain times.
We are hoping to run a few programs;
  • IT workshops and courses - Develop your skills using computers, handheld devices, Zoom or answering any questions you may have regarding the online world, be it particular platforms, basic tasks or which device is best for you. We want to help you!
  • A self-help group to assist you and others with managing the isolation that comes with COVID-19 and further lockdowns. This is not a crisis group, instead it will be a safe place to share your thoughts and struggles, to connect with and support others in your community and learn from each other.
We would like to emphasise that even if you do not wish to participate, your feedback would be equally valuable. Perhaps you know someone in need or have an idea for a new program. Tell us how we can best support you and our community, to get through these difficult times, together.

Devices available for loan, FREE

We have a couple of devices we are able to loan out thanks to the Federal Government's Be Connected program.

We are able to lend new devices (iPad, laptop or Samsung tablet) for two months at a time to any eligible Centre user, and we will also supply data cards so that the device can be connected to the internet, at no cost to the user.

If you or someone you know does not have a device or access to the internet and would like to have these resources, please let us know.

For more information and support setting up, call or email us.
