Hello Everyone
We have some exciting news for you...
We were successful in receiving a $50,000 Lets Stay Connected grant from the Government to support YOU, our community!
The money will be spent providing low and no cost programs to the community, to reduce social isolation, and improve connectedness within the community.
Social isolation deprives us all of our basic and fundamental need to connect with others and feel like part of a community. Humans also crave discovery. While the routines around isolating at home during COVID can provide comfort; without discovery, the lack of input while staying safe at home can lead to a feeling of disillusionment. This can lead a shift in your overall way of thinking to a "Fixed Mindset" and a reversion to a "survival mode" of living. The aim of our project is to nurture a growth mindset in our community during COVID, to provide affordable or free learning and engagement offering the means for our community to do more than just endure.
With restrictions causing a multitude of barriers, our program takes a holistic and dynamic approach designed to reach and support some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
This will include;
- The expansion of our Keeping Connected Support Group
- Free device loan program
- New device support services for ESL
- Wellness programs including a free intro to the wonderful Wayapa Wuurrk Indigenous Earth, Mind, Body Spirit modality
- Sustainability Programs
and much more!
We are thrilled to have the Governments support to continue to provide much needed services to the community.
