Finger Lakes Wine Flour

We are excited to announce that Finger Lakes Wine Flour will be hitting the shelves and your taste buds by the end of the month!

We have a lot to be thankful for here at SVS but most importantly, none of this would be possible without our winery suppliers-- Hector Wine Company and Red Newt Cellars! Because of their participation, we are launching nine varieties of wine flour this year. You will be able to one our website within the next three weeks and we will be releasing a list of businesses that carry our products in April. The seven varieties seen above will be released first, starting with Riesling and Cabernet Sauvignon. 

Developing our process in Upstate, NY provides opportunities to create a perfect marriage between food and renewable energy. Our passion to be self sufficient and sustainable ensures that the products we bring to your kitchen are of the highest quality and nutraceutical value. 

Riesling Wine Flour:
Our Riesling Flour offers surprisingly sweet flavors of honeysuckle, graham cracker, rose petals and green apple with a light acidity on the finish. Only 40 cases were produced this year, (our lowest quantity of the seven varieties we are releasing). After offering pre-release samples to various chefs, retail owners and home cooks it's clear that our Riesling Flour is highly demanded and will surely be our first variety to sell out.

Bite of the Month:
Riesling Flour Crackers!
Wine flour crackers are one their way! We are developing wine flour crackers to pair with local cheeses and fruits for cheese plates all over Upstate, NY.

After handing out numerous different wine flour cracker varieties, Riesling is so far the favorite. However, Cabernet crackers have been named a close second thus, deserving of this notoriety.

The best thing about these crackers is that they provide an opportunity to create partnerships with wineries, restaurants creameries and our local salt company.

Future Event:
Live Like Liz Pasta Dinner
March 19th  5-8:30 

SVS is going to be the guest chef for this annual fundraising event to benefit ovarian cancer awareness and education.

A special Wine Flour treat will be handed out to all of the guests at the end of the night!

Firelight Camps Launch Party

Pictured above are the Finger Lakes Riesling Cupcakes made for the Ithaca by Firelight launch party on September 4th, 2014.
We are honored that La Tourelle Resort & Spa and Firelight Camps asked us to bake these local goodies for this special event. La Tourelle has been a NY Certified Green Hotel for numerous years. Fire Light Camps uses local designs that mimic the natural surroundings found in the Finger Lakes while also doting extremely local food products (homemade smores, for example) by Food Network Star, Emma Frisch and other Ithaca area food warriors.
