Mercantile Center

We hope you and your family enjoyed a safe
Holiday and a Happy New Year!

Now, it's January - that time when many of us reassess our busy lives and think about what we want to accomplish during the next year. With that in mind, we at Mercantile Center plan to continue providing enjoyment for our tenants and friends of downtown Worcester, with events and accomplishments bigger and better than ever.

Join us as we take a quick look back at the final weeks of 2019!
Mercantile Center started the Holidays off right by providing tenants a 'Build-Your-Own' hot chocolate bar, and various contests and raffles with prize giveaways!

Those in attendance enjoyed a live performance from a musical trio led by Wednesday Live Music favorite, Brooks Milgate.
Tenants of Mercantile Center have continued to step it up year-over-year whenever there is an opportunity for some fun, high-spirited competition. We have seen many of our tenants participate in costume-related contests over the years, taking the opportunity by storm when showing off their creative sides.

It's safe to say the 2nd Annual Ugly Sweater Contest Ugly Sweater Contest definitely did not disappoint!

And our winners are. . .
Teresa Rincon (Left), UMass Memorial Health Care
Winner: (Funniest Sweater)
Kerie Choiniere (Middle), UMass Memorial Health Care
Winner: (Most Festive Sweater)
Shaunalee Reyes (Right), Telegram & Gazette

Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce Breakfast Club

We're proud to announce that Mercantile Center Owner, Chip Norton, was featured as the Keynote Speaker for the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce Breakfast Club this past December
Norton, who recently signed two major restaurant leases at Mercantile Center, discussed the idea of developing a five- to- 10-year plan in which development of more residential units and office space will help drive retail.

Ruth's Chris will open a restaurant at Mercantile Center in the fall of 2020, and Norton just announced that Broadway Hospitality Group will be opening a restaurant at Mercantile Center the following year, which will be the biggest and the flagship for the company. (See details below)

“Worcester has seen a resurgence in the last few years, and we think we’re part of it,” Norton said.

New Years Resolutions!

Every year, we all make New Year’s resolutions, and we all have failed at one point or another. Below are some of the most common resolutions that are likely to look familiar to you.

  • Exercise more
  • Get organized
  • Learn a new skill or hobby
  • Save more money / spend less money
  • Quit a bad habit
  • Spend more time with family and friends
  • Travel more
According to a study published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology, only 46% of people who made New Year’s resolutions were successful. That means over half of the people who set a goal for the new year will fail!

Thankfully, we found 10 steps towards successfully realizing your New Year’s resolution, and are excited to share them with you:
1. Mentally prepare for change
2. Set a goal that motivates you
3. Limit resolutions to a manageable amount
4. Be Specific
5. Break up big goals into smaller goals
6. Write down your goals
7. Share your resolutions with others
8. Use your phone or computer to automate where possible
9. Review your resolution regularly
10. If you fall off track, get back on quick

Remember, January is...

January is National Blood Donor Month, the perfect time to resolve to be a regular blood donor and help save lives.

Extreme winter weather in some parts of the country and seasonal illnesses often make it difficult for the American Red Cross to maintain a sufficient blood supply at this time of year.

For detailed donor eligibility questions, please call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit
