It has been another huge month for Women in Business & Regional Development with two major events; our Toastmaster Training at Cafe Belgiorno's &  our Empowering Women in Business Networking Breakfast at the Commodore on the Park. Both events had over 50 people in attendance and were a great success.

The Influential Women in Business Award nomination period is in full swing with nominations closing this Sunday the 31st of May. Please help us by promoting and encouraging as many people as possible to consider entering, or nominating a worthy colleague/community member, great regional business or group. Please help us by encouraging people and/or businesses that should earn some recognition for a job well done to nominate for an award.  
 
Finally the strength of WIBRD is you, our valuable members and our ability to empower all women though training, networking and supporting professional women including small business owners, career professionals, up and coming business women and entrepreneurs. We welcome and encourage all to attend our events and bring along guests.

Investment Q & A Session & Networking Event ‘Invest for Success @ The Main’
Join us for an Investment Q & A session with a panel of experts from our sponsors ANZ, Sinclair Wilson, Blue Lake Homes & Complete Real Estate for a night of great food, networking and investment information for all stages of business and life.

Empowering Women in Business Networking Breakfast.
Join us for our second event in our Empowering Women in Business breakfast Networking Series.
Where: The Commodore on the Park, 1 Jubilee Highway, Mount Gambier
When: Thursday the 25 June 2015
Time: 7am to 8.30am
Guest Speaker: Toni Vorenas, owner of Metro Bakery & Cafe & previous IWA Winner.
Cost: $22 for Members & $25 for Non- Members

The nomination period for the 2015 Influential Women in Business Awards close this Sunday and we need you help to promote and nominate people for the awards so we get as many people involved as possible.

The application process is incredibly simple; you simply need to answer two questions about your business or role within an organisation, along with your experiences, in no more than 500 words .
 Award nominations close on 31 May 2015.
The Awards will be presented at a gala dinner at The Barn in Mount Gambier on Friday 14 August 2015. Nominees are encouraged to bring along a table of colleagues, friends and family to enjoy the celebrations and recognise the achievements of women in the region.

April Toastmasters Training
What a turnout we had for the Toastmasters training at Caffe Belgiorno on the 22nd of April. The training was run by former Mt Gambier girl & 2015 Toastmaster of the year Fiona Stopp. The event was a great success with 50 people in attendance. 20 members stayed on for dinner afterwards at Café Belgiorno and the feedback from the event has all been positive.

We would like to take this opportunity to once again Thank former Mt. Gambier girl & 2015 Toastmaster of the year, Fiona Stopp who ran the training. There was some interest expressed for a more intensive weekend Toastmasters training which we are working on and will be in contact when details are finalised.

May Empowering Women in Business Networking Breakfast
We had an absolutely fantastic turnout at our May Empowering Women in Business Breakfast. It is so exciting to see so many women supporting each other in business‬ and learning the skills of professionally networking! We absolutely loved hearing from Anelia Blackie Chief of Staff at the Border Watch, she shared some amazing stories.
One of the highlights of the morning was a member sharing how this network has completely changed her life and how she is kicking goals in her business.

2015 Women in Business Awards

The Influential Women in Business Awards will again be held in 2015 with nominations opening in late March.
This must attend Gala event will be held on August the 14th 2015 at the Barn Palais.
We are very excited to announce that we have secured Katrina Webb as guest speaker at the Awards.
Katrina Webb is recognised and acknowledged for her unique athleticism and outstanding success as a Paralympic athlete. She has won Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in athletics at three Paralympic Games. 
Off the track Katrina is the Director of her own business Silver 2 Gold High Performance Solutions. As a qualified physiotherapist and a person that knows how to achieve gold medal results more than once, her business specializes in ‘Turning Silver into Gold’ and improving the performance and health of organisations, teams and individuals.

We would also  like to hear about any good news our members would like to share. Any articles that particularly interest women are invited as well.

In 2015 there will be opportunities to advertise in our newsletters. Members and Sponsors will have first options as there will only be a certain number of spots available each month. Fees will be set by the Board in December.
