Perth Hills Spring Festival

The Perth Spring Hills Festival is back for 2017 and is jam-packed with fun filled events and activities for all ages, through the whole month of October! Eery week boasts a range of things to see and do, with art and craft exhibitions, winery tours, guided nature walks, evening markets, movie nights, bike rides and much more. Come and enjoy the unique Perth Hills region in all its Spring glory.

We have recently released 2 videos in a our series "A Perth Hills Story" which feature some of the unique local businesses that call the Perth Hills home.

Episode 1: Open Studios - Every year on the second Sunday in October professional artists open their studios to the public for conversation, information and art sales.

Episode 2: Fairbrossen Winery - find out more about the family behind this boutique winery and their passion for producing quality, sustainable wine.

Sports & Community Development Grants

Are you part of a sports, recreation or community group making a difference in our community? Your group could be eligible for a grant towards your program or project.

The City of Kalamunda Community Funding Programs aim to assist local community groups and individuals to deliver projects that:
  • Increase community participation and involvement within the City
  • Build the skills and knowledge of association / members
  • Increase volunteer pride and/ or celebrate our communities diversity

Cycling in the City 

This year a Cycling Community Reference Group was assembled to improve integration of cycling within our community. The group has now had 2 meetings covering:
  • A dedicated website page 
  • Improved notifications & communication of events
  • Alternative race routes
  • Sharing traffic management plans
  • Creating consistent guidelines and standardised requirements 
  • Potential for more traffic marshals
  • Categorise different styles of races
  • Limiting the race season and total number of approved cycling events that run through Pickering Brook

Garage Sale Trail
21 & 22 October
Walliston Transfer Station will be clearing out the clutter as part of the nation’s biggest ever weekend of garage sales. Getting involved isn't just good for the planet, you could find a bargain!
  Exhibition: A Walk in the Hills
7 - 22 October
The beginning of the 'the Bush', the Jarrah Forests, native flora and fauna. A collaborative exhibition by innovative Stitches that brings a contemporary approach to textiles and stitching.
