There will be NO IN PERSON worship on Sunday.
Message to Congregation:
The Search Committee has been working hard at finding new ministers as successors for Peter and Ellen. We are following up with many individuals, but wanted to remind the congregation that we appreciate any suggestions or recommendations of great Ministers you would love to join us at Wilmot! You can message the Search Committee, in confidence, at .
Website Redevelopment
We are creating a steering committee of 3 or 4 people who are familiar with Wilmot and interested in our online presence.  They will provide guidance & direction for a part-time employee we will hire this fall through the Federal CSJ program to update our website.  If you are interested in helping, would like more information, or can suggest someone for the steering committee, please contact Shirley Cleave, or Judy Coates,

Spirit Conversations
When: June 24, 2021  7:00 – 8:30 pm
Topic: NATURE: Uplifting our Spirits
This final session in the 'January to June 2021 series' will be taken into the outdoors. We will go on a short 'walk and talk' excursion together, abiding by all the COVID protocols in place: masks and social distancing, etcetera. Fresh air and the beautiful outdoors - what does it do for your spirit? We'll take time to reflect on this question, and hope we'll learn a few new things about the wonderful flora and fauna we encounter on our walk.  Our conversations continue to reveal the richness in our diverse perspectives. We'd love to learn from you!

Where?: Odell Park. We will meet by the fish pond and start our session close by. We will be conscious of the possible need to make accommodations for anyone with mobility issues. Come prepared for the weather and the bugs, and don't forget your masks and hand sanitizers. (There may even be some treats to end our evening together!)

Registration: Given this is our first in-person session, please let us know if you are intending to participate. Send an email to Marilyn at

Note: Given the planned construction at the entrance to Odell Park, we will let you know if there are alternate plans required that evening.

Regional Update

The annual meeting of Fundy St. Lawrence Dawning Waters (FSLDW), was held by Zoom on June 5 & 6.  Clergy and lay representatives from across the region participated in several meaningful worship services; received reports from the Regional Committees and Regional Resource Persons; heard greetings from the Rev. Richard Bott, Moderator, the Rev. Michael Blair, General Secretary, and the Ecumenical guests.  The ministry of clergy who had served 50, 55, 60 & 65 years was celebrated including Garth Caseley, Don MacDougall and Ron Vincent.   The work being done regionally and nationally on a Guaranteed Liveable Income was highlighted.

The Theme Speaker was the Rev. Murray K Pruden, the Nation Executive Minister for Indigenous Ministries and Justice.  He acknowledged the recent discovery of unmarked graves at the Residential School in Kamloops and then provided an overview of the history and current situation of the relationship between the United Church and First Nations.

Commissioners for the 44th General Council were elected, including Shirley Cleave as a Lay Commissioner and Rose-Hannah Gaskin as an alternate Ministry Personnel Commissioner.  Two proposals were adopted.  1)  All Communities of Faith are called to prioritize the urgent need to work towards climate justice in 2021-22 through prayer, liturgy, education and action.  2) Fundy St. Lawrence Dawning Waters Region will apply to become an Affirming Ministry and a member of Affirm United.

Throughout the meeting, the Equity Support Team provided feedback as to how well participants were doing in creating an inclusive space.
