Go4IT Scheme

Lottery scheme for public access IT to help with online benefit claims

Advice North Somerset is pleased to announce that the Go4IT scheme has reopened and will be taking new applications until 5.00pm on Friday 24th April 2015.

The scheme is primarily aimed at small, local, voluntary organisations that provide free information, support or advice to the public in North Somerset and help (or could help) assist service users to claim benefits online, for example Housing Benefit and/or Council Tax Support.

From the scheme, organisations can receive IT hardware to help the public. Here are some examples of what can be provided:

  • Desktops & Accessories
  • Laptops & Accessories
  • Tablets & Accessories
  • Internet access (e.g. Mobile WiFi).

IT provision between the values of £50 and up to a maximum of £2,500 can be provided.

Advice North Somerset Forum

Quarterly forum meeting

The second Advice North Somerset Forum is on Tuesday 14th April from 9.30 to 12.30 and is being held at The Hive in Weston-super-Mare.

The agenda includes:

  • Universal Credit Update - a representative from the DWP will be speaking
  • North Somerset CAB - update from Anne Richards, Bureau Manager
  • Advice North Somerset - Go4IT scheme update, finding advice online, social policy

There will also be an opportunity to network with other members on any relevant developments and examples of good practice. Anyone working or volunteering in the Information, Advice & Support Sector in North Somerset is welcome to attend.
