Have You Noticed?
It's Been a Bit of A Topsy, Turvy Life For Many This Past Year...Including Me!!
So...It's been awhile since you've heard from me!!

So over the past year here's just a few of the crazy things that have been going on in my life:
1. My Mom had to have 3 major eye surgeries, and needed my help alot.
2. I listed my home of 29 years for sale, have had oodles of showings and the disruption that causes, but no sale...so I feel I must still be here in the Comox Valley for a reason!
3. My daughter moved to Australia for 2 years, and I miss her like crazy.
4. I left my space at the Manor in Comox...the overhead was just getting to be crazy expensive there, and I didn't want to have to raise my prices. So am currently only doing sessions in my home in Royston.
5. I worked in Singapore for 6 weeks with my Magical Man.
6. I had a big plumbing leak in my dining room, which seeped under my dining room floor, which then had to be replaced...all while I was trying to have showings....and 3 months later it is finally replaced!
7. A very long term client passed away. I supported her till her last few days in hospice care. It was such a gift to be asked to be there with her during this time, but was still emotionally draining.
8. My dog who had been with me for 15 years passed away, bringing lots of old Grief to the surface for me.

Because I only like to give my whole and best to my clients, I haven't been doing many Acupressure sessions, but I am now rested, ready and here to share the Magic of BodyMind Acupressure with you!

September, Late Summer and The Earth Element

I've been noticing a few shifts the past few weeks. Along with the shorter days, and change in the air to cooler, crisper mornings, there has been a big shift in my client's main complaints. It's really important to attend to these complaints now, so that you will have lots of Chi flowing through your body to keep away all those Fall and Winter Colds and Flus!

Have you too recently noticed Stomach Issues are more present?
Gas, bloating, loose stools, constipation, acid reflux, heartburn, nausea, abdominal pain, belching, and so on. As well as lowered immunity, allergies, muscular issues, anxiety, fatigue/low energy, dizziness, lack of focus, phlegm, and various menstrual issues?

September is the time of Late Summer and the Earth Element in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
As the Big Yang of Summer Fire gives away, we begin to require a balancing of our Earth energies which involves the Stomach and Spleen meridians. All of the above issues are related to imbalances in the Stomach and Spleen meridians.

How do you allow yourself to receive nourishment of all kinds? And did you know this is related to the Stomach and Spleen energy/meridians?

Weak Spleen may be related to not getting your needs met as a child, never learning how to fully receive...and this can affect your ability to receive in all areas of your life. The Spleen energy is all about our ability to receive and transform nourishment...physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.

When Spleen energy is balanced and strong, you will have a deep inner sense of well-being, and belonging, your digestive system will function optimally and your mind will be clear and you will be able to concentrate easily. When we feel truly nourished, we come from a place of strength and can offer others support and we are not coming from a place of need or lack trying to get our needs met.

Balanced Earth Element energy allows us to nurture ourselves and others and to feel sympathy and consideration. And working with these Meridians and balancing the others will assist you to begin building a strong Immune System to easily fend off all those viruses of Fall and Winter.

When Earth is out of balance, there will be worry, over-concern, circular thinking, wanting sympathy, and feelings of overwhelm and inability to cope. Out of balance Earth energy also gives rise to all those Spleen/Stomach issues, such as gas, bloating, loose stools, constipation, acid reflux, heartburn, nausea, abdominal pain, belching, and so on. Immunity, allergies, muscular issues, anxiety, fatigue/low energy, dizziness, lack of focus, phlegm, and various menstrual presentations can also be related to Spleen imbalance.

It is a time when these organs can be at their strongest, and flourish, allowing us to store energy for Winter strength and immunity. But it is also a time when we may notice imbalances that are present. Late Summer, or Earth Element time can show us where we are unbalanced in our lives.

Either way, it’s a delicious time to nourish Spleen and Stomach energies. This is especially important if we want to enter the Fall and Winter Cold and Flu Season with STRONG IMMUNITY!

"Back to School" Acupressure Point to Enhance Focus and Motivation

Location:
Two-thirds of the way up from the upper lip to the nose. Press slowly but firmly into your gum and breathe deeply. Do this for a couple of minutes. The effectiveness of this point often increases by pressing it firmly each day over a period of several weeks.

Creative Benefits: Although this point is also good for improving memory and concentration, its magic lies in its ability to bring you back into both moment and focus.
