It's That Time Of Year Again.
It's The Cold & Flu Time of Year...But It Doesn't Have To Be!
Kick The "Flu Season" To The Curb!

And Don't Miss the Appetite Controlling Self-Acupressure at the bottom of the page!!

The Flu may not be a “Season”, but may just be our body’s inability to adapt to decreased Vitamin D from less sun exposure, combined with increased sugar and the increased stress of excess emotional baggage of the holiday season.

Let’s Create Better Health and Kick the "Flu Season" to the curb!!
Two natural methods I incorporate into my life are Acupressure and Nutrients. I’m happy to say I’ve not had a bad cold or flu for years now!

We've just returned from working in Singapore for a month, and due to a mix-up in preparing our Visa by the company we were working for, we ended up suddenly having to return home earlier than expected, with just hours notice!!
Because of this short notice in our departure, we ended up with terrible flight connections coming home. Envision this.....a red eye flight from Singapore to Tokyo, then a 12 hour layover in Tokyo and another red-eye flight from Tokyo to Vancouver...and being surrounded by crying babies and people who had colds! It was rainy season in Singapore this trip, which is their Cold Season.

BUT, we remained healthy, despite a month of stressful work in Singapore, living in a city of 6 million for a month, riding the crammed rapid transit daily, our abrupt stressful departure, knowing we could be thrown in jail for overstaying our Visa, and the crazy flight home full of lack of sleep, screaming babies and snotty noses!!
A big part of why we stayed healthy is that we had done self acupressure during the trip, and since we were staying near Chinatown we had gotten Acupressure massage, cupping and reflexology as well as doing lots of joyful, fun things in our evenings and days off!

Stress creates traffic jams in the energy systems of the body.
Acupressure strengthens natural resistance to colds and flus by opening the natural, nourishing energy flow to the organs allowing them to function at their highest level.
Fall and Winter in TCM is related to the Lung, Large Intestine and Kidney Meridians so we can enhance our resistance by keeping these meridians open. Imbalances of Lungs/Large Intestine can manifest as weak immune system, allergies, asthma, cough, colds, shortness of breath, constipation, and more!
The Lung and Large Intestines  work together as a team, one taking in the pure, the other eliminating waste. If these organs failed to do their jobs, imagine what might result - we might experience physical ailments of the Lung and Intestines such as bronchitis, shortness of breath, cough, allergies, nasal congestion, emphysema, colds, sore throat, constipation, diarrhea, spastic colon, and abdominal pain. As well, what happens to our mind and spirit if waste keeps building up and we are unable to take in purity? How are we apt to feel? Instead of tranquillity and inspiration, spontaneity and freshness, we feel depression, stubbornness (inability to “let go”), isolation, negativity. We see the dark side in everything, all the things that could go wrong. Of course, we would not choose to act and feel that way any more than we would choose to have constipation - but in this condition of imbalance, that is how it will manifest!
Studies have shown that those receiving Acupressure have elevated immune-enhancing hormones and blood-counts!
Acupressure can:
-Prevent colds and flus by boosting the immune system.
-Help you get over the cold or flu faster if you already have it.
-Reduce chills, fever and body aches.
-Relieve sore throat and sinus congestion. And so much more!
