Some 2018 Highlights
January - Verna flew to Salt Lake City, Utah to attend the Linguistic Society of America's annual meeting where she demo-ed the Services her unit provides, including Webonary. We sold our house in Cedar Hill, Texas and moved to Greenville, Texas to be closer to Jason & Anna. April - We flew to Fort McMurray for the bi-annual Missions conference of the McMurray Gospel Fellowship church. May - Robert completed An Exegetical Summary of Acts, Volume Two and sent it off for publication. June - Verna hosted the Dictionary & Lexicography Services team at our house for a staff retreat. July - We traveled to Manitoba to visit family and financial supporters. We were blessed to attend a Penner cousin reunion. August - We traveled to Indiana and to visit family and financial supporters. We were there for Robert's brother-in-law's funeral. Verna attended the SIL Linguistics conference in Dallas, where she reported on the status/progress of Dictionary & Lexicography Services. Robert attended the Celebration of the Completion of the Exegetical Summary Series of the New Testament at the International Linguistics Center in Dallas, where he received a Certificate of Appreciation. September - Verna attended the SIL Coordinators' staff retreat in Dallas. November -Verna presented an update to the SIL Board during their Fall meetings. December - Our first Christmas in our new home!
Robert has begun learning Old Testament Hebrew in order to be effective in editing the Exegetical Summary series for the Old Testament. Currently, he is editing the lectionary readings in the book of Jeremiah.
Verna continues to lead her team, Dictionary & Lexicography Services, in providing services, such as, lexical data conversions, help in dictionary compilation, and online and mobile app publication.
