[Druk Asia Discovery] We wish you a greater New Year

2020 has been a test of resilience for individuals and companies the world over. Since March 2020, flights to Bhutan ceased operations. Despite that, we took the opportunity to launch the Bhutan Trivia to share more about this amazing Kingdom with you. More than a thousand people participated in the trivia globally.

While the year ahead remains filled with much uncertainties, we trust that someday we will be able to step foot into the majestic Kingdom once again. Hopefully sooner, than later. We know that you look forward to visit Bhutan as much as we look forward to bringing you there.

On 10th December 2020, Her Majesty the Gyalyum Sangay Choden Wangchuck was awarded the individual laureate for 2020 UN Population Award. The UN Population Award is the most prestigious award in the field of reproductive health and population.

The award to Her Majesty the Gyalyum Sangay Choden Wangchuck was in recognition of her outstanding contributions towards social and health issues in Bhutan. Her Majesty the Gyalyum is the longest serving UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador to Bhutan since January 1999.

HOW IS THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC SITUATION IN BHUTAN?

On 22 December, the government of Bhutan implemented a seven-day nationwide lockdown. The announcement came upon the detection of several COVID-19 positive cases in the communities.
