Dear valued customers and friends of Druk Asia,
We hope you are keeping safe during these unprecedented times.
On March 6 2020, Bhutan announced its borders closures to tourist upon discovering the first imported COVID-19 case in the country. Since then, the government has responded swiftly to implement stringent measures such as mandatory 14-day quarantine (which has later been extended to 21-day) for all returning Bhutanese, schools closure and social distancing practices. The COVID-19 response was spearheaded personally by His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck. To date, there are 62 confirmed cases in the country in which all are imported cases detected at quarantine centres from Bhutanese returning to the country. 18 patients have recovered and discharged. There is currently no widespread community transmission and there is zero mortality in the country.
Vsiting Bhutan is akin to fulfilling a dream for many of us. It must have been extremely devastating to have this dream disrupted by this global pandemic for those who had to cancel their trip during this period. The team at Druk Asia would like to assure you that we share your disappointment and wish that you will be able to explore this majestic Kingdom once international travelling is resumed.
We have recently just launched a Bhutan Trivia campaign where you can win travel vouchers while testing your knowledge on Bhutan. Check out below for more information.
In the meantime, stay safe and stay healthy as the Land of Thunder Dragon awaits your return.
The Druk Asia Team
