March 2015 Update & Events
View this email in your browser
Hello TCD Members,

Welcome to a new year of club events and activities. The newsletter took a two month hiatus over the winter, but now that the snow is melting we are back on track.

Most importantly we have our Annual Membership and Planning Meeting on March 15th (11:30am-3pm). This meeting only happens once a year and is where all the magic happens.  It starts off with a potluck lunch that leads into our General Membership meeting and then the Planning Meeting where we put our ride schedule together for the year. If you have feedback for the officers, ideas for the club, or rides you want on the schedule please plan to attend this meeting. This year it will be held at the Plymouth VFW Hall on Lilley Rd (Mill St.), just north of Ann Arbor Rd (Directions).

Below is a complete list of events and breakfast locations for this month.

Last weekend we had our Annual Awards Dinner Banquet at Karl's Cabin. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend. We had a great turnout with a total of 61 club and family members. There were lots of fun things including door prizes, a 50/50 raffle, a small silent auction and a "Club History Quiz" that was mostly based on this newsletter article by Kay Shaw in December 2008.

The new venue seemed to work out really well for our club needs. We even had desserts that were provided by Debbie Gary, Leslie Allgood, and Nancy Blow (ex-first wives club?) - thank you girls!

Congratulations to all the winners!

A huge thank you to our sponsors: BMW Motorcycles of Southeast Michigan, BMW Motorcycles of Detroit, and Cafe Racer. Thanks again to everyone for making this year a great event!
Glenn Brechner provided an excellent history of the Wade Allen High Mileage Award and the Vern Hansen Memorial Presidential Award of Merit. It was a real treat and a great tribute to both those fine gentlemen.
Special thanks to Kevin Gao for the photographs this month.
BMW Motorcycles of SE Michigan Annual Charity Fashion Show is Friday, April 17, 2015. All proceeds will benefit The United Cerebral Palsy of Metropolitan Detroit. Join us for a fun filled evening of the latest motorcycle fashions by BMW Motorrad, Klim, Olympia Motor Sports and Rev'it!
